  I spent two weeks in July-August'96 with my relatives and friends hiking over the hills and mountains of northern Russia.
   
• June 1996. Military Camp near Moscow   Last update: 04/03/98
  In Moscow University we had one full day of military education each weak for two years. It was not obligatory, but the only alternative was to be drafted for a year after graduation. At the end we had to spend a month in a military camp, learn how to march, how to use guns and take an oath.
   
• August 1995. Altay mountains    (Mirror in Russia)    Last update: 11/29/98
  I was discussing the idea of a mountain trip to Altay with my classmates (they were my classmates both in the school and in the university) for two years. In 1995 we finally decided to go from the Edigan village to the delta of Chulishman river (Teletskoye lake). The hiking was not very serious (no rock climbing, ropes etc.), but it didn't prevent us from visiting lots of beautiful places.
